In my opinion there are not many differences. The only noticeable ones are that there are far less insects overall than the public opinion thinks there are. People also tend to think there are not many cities, shops and other bigger population centers, which leads them to think Australians have to travel a lot. In reality there are cities there just like in any place in the world. The climate is also a big misunderstanding, because it is hot there, but over the years the people have adapted to such temperatures. The last common opinion is that the Australians live in the middle of a desert usually on a farm. That is not true, as most of the population is gathered around the coast.
